A. When sin has come in.
Q. What does the Sin offering signify?
A. The removal of the "Old Man", Rom.6:6

Q: Removal is the negative aspect. Is there a positive aspect also?
A. Yes, the bringing in of the New Man- the second man. 1 Cor. 15:47. This is the whole burnt offering.
Ver.25 "burnt offering killed.... sin offering killed.
Sin offering viewed in the light of the burnt offering... Viewing sin in the light of what it cost God to remove it. No light thoughts of sin.
Holiness is the losing of self and being clothed upon with the spirit and likeness of Jesus.
In no other offering except, Sin and trespass, is holiness emphasized four times: v.25, 29; 7:1, 6.
ver. 26. The priest that offers it for sin shall eat it."
eat+= sin viewed from a standpoint that makes it his own (not judgmental) In mind and spirit the priest is brought into accord with God. Deep inward sense of what it cost Christ.
An apprehension of divine holiness & perfect grace.
Lev. 10:17 in a sense the priest who eats the sin offering makes atonement.
Be in sympathy with the heart of Christ as to the state and sin of the sinner and in the grace of Christ who sacrificially bore it - make it our own (enter into the fellowship of His sufferings Phil. 3:10. It is an exposure of ourselves: 'There go I. E.g. Ezra 9:6, 10; Dan. 9:5,7,9 (identified with their sins) also Neh. 9. Gal.6:1
Eating brings about deep inward exercise. We do not view it as the world does but according to God. Gen.6:6 "grieved him at his heart."

ver.27 garment-the whole outward life washed- an effect on conduct; a moral cleansing and purification that brings in the beauty of holiness.
